Remember in high school when you used to have to take photos of yourself by holding your camera out in front of you, hoping you lined everything up correctly? And then your girlfriend got mad at you because you didn’t have any framed pictures of just you and her, and you were like, “But baby, all my photos are off-center! And our love is so pure that anything less than perfectly-centered just won’t cut it. Now let’s listen to some 311 and forget this ever happened. We’re both going to separate colleges next year. I don’t want to fight any more!”

No? Just me? Okay then.

Samsung sidestepped that problem with the introduction of its DualView line of cameras last year – a full million years after I graduated high school — the key selling point being both a rear-facing LCD screen like the one found on other digital cameras, and a smaller front-facing LCD screen that could be used to line up angry girlfriend photos so they turned out not-angry.

Fast forward to nowabouts, and we’ve got the 16-megapixel Samsung DV300F – the first DualView camera with a built-in Wi-Fi connection. According to Samsung’s press release:

The camera’s built-in Wi-Fi connectivity enables users to email their images or upload them to social media sites including Facebook, Picasa, Flickr and YouTube. In addition, images saved onto the camera’s microSD memory card, can be saved to a home PC without wires, by using the Auto PC Backup function. Cloud services, including Samsung’s AllShare Play and Microsoft SkyDrive, allows users to store and share their precious pictures from anywhere.

So you’ll have no excuse for a) taking off-kilter face-photos and b) not uploading them shortly after they’re taken. “But baby, I couldn’t find my USB cable!” That’s not gonna fly anymore.

The DV300F will be available in March for around $200.
