Having successfully solved the problem of constantly wondering “What is that song?” by offering an app that identifies excerpts of music, Shazam has clearly decided that telling you what you’re listening to isn’t enough — now it’ll let you listen to music and read along with the lyrics in its new music player app.

The just-launched Shazam Player app won’t just let you organize and play your music, it’ll offer lyrics for each song so you can sing along, keep track of concert dates and watch YouTube videos of favorite artists, and enable social media sharing so you can spam your Twitter feed with whatever you’re listening to. According to Shazam CEO Andrew Fisher, “We think the Shazam Player App is a great new addition and is an excellent complement to our Shazam App so that people will always have a magical musical discovery experience, whether the song is something that they’re just hearing for the first time or is a favourite in their collection.”

The free app is only available on iOS devices currently, but may be worth it for the lyric feature alone. Now every song you listen to can become your own personal karaoke duet.
