Technology Finally Gets Useful: ATM for Cupcakes Invented

Sprinkles

See that pink ATM-looking thing in the middle of the above photo? Look at it. LOOK AT IT! That’s a cupcake ATM, my main man.

It’s stocked by Sprinkles, the place that’s often mentioned on the Food Network in shows like I Love Eating Here and Here Is Where You Should Eat and Take It From Me: This Is Where Good Eating Happens. I’ll have to double-check that those are the correct names of the shows, but if you see a person who looks like they love food sitting in front of a white background talking about places they like to eat, that’s the show I’m talking about.

Sprinkles is so serious about this automated cupcake dispenser that there’s a Facebook page called 24-Hour Sprinkles. This is not to be confused with the standard Sprinkles Facebook page, which is separate, yet run by the same string-pullers.

“Surely this is an April Fools’ Day joke gone awry!” you yell at your monitor, fists balled up and trembling at the notion that Sprinkles would have the gall to launch such a ruse a month in advance. If this is truly a joke, Sprinkles is really working at it. Also, such a joke would prove conclusively that there is no God, for what God would tempt us with a cupcake ATM – such brilliant human ingenuity that it could only have been divinely inspired — and then take it away?

Oh, and Sprinkles appears to have confirmed the ATM’s existence with LAist.com:

This automatic cupcake machine dispenses freshly baked cupcakes, cupcake mixes, apparel and even cupcakes for Fido! In the heart of Beverly Hills nestled between Sprinkles Cupcakes and the brand new Sprinkles Ice Cream, 24 Hour Sprinkles will be continuously restocked day and night with a variety of freshly baked cupcake flavors.

America, we’ve reached the pinnacle of our existence. Back-pats all around!
