The Atlantic’s book club is fairly standard. Members help vote on a book and then come together to discuss it – though in this case, it’s happening on Twitter. The idea was sparked by a question: What if everyone on Twitter, from Bangalore to Bismarck, read the same book at the same time? Founded in May, @1book140 seeks to do just that with an entirely tweet-dependant book club. Members use hashtags during discussions and vote on titles using only their tweets.
