You may have caught ABC’s edition of Nightline where anchor Bill Weir was allowed previously-forbidden access to the factory floor of Foxconn to witness workers assembling Apple products.

Now, a new video by American Public Media’s Marketplace program offers an “exclusive look at how an iPad is made.” According to the report:

Marketplace Shanghai Bureau Chief Rob Schmitz is only the second reporter ever to gain access to visit the factory floor at Apple’s Chinese producer Foxconn. In this exclusive video, see highlights from his tour of the assembly line and the Foxconn campus and facilities to see what living and working conditions are like for the hundreds of thousands of workers there.

Schmitz also has an interesting writeup about his experience on Marketplace.org as well.
