How can old-school Star Wars fans wash the rancid taste of Kinect Star Wars out of their mouths? Maybe LucasArts’ new game Star Wars 1313 will help.

Instead of a dancing Han Solo, you’ll play a bounty hunter tracking down targets in the Coruscant underworld. According to LucasArts, “Star Wars 1313 emphasizes epic set pieces and fast-paced combat with a hero who uses human skills and gadgets, rather than supernatural Force powers, to make his way through this dangerous world.”

A preview on Spike TV made it seem like they were aiming for a more mature audience, saying your character will be facing “the worst of the worst of the Star Wars galaxy brought together in one place.” I assume that means gangs and criminals instead of Jar Jar Binks and pod racing, although I’m sure the level of seediness will be tame compared to other games, i.e. no carjacking speeders or shooting civilians with your blaster.

TheForce.Net points out that fans were speculating that “1313” referred to a young adult novel Boba Fett: Maze of Deception, in which Boba Fett adopts the name CT-1313. Sadly, it appears you do not play Boba Fett in the game. More details will be revealed next week at E3.
