Kidnapped as a young child, She-Ra was the sister of another popular 1980s action figure icon, He-Man. She even had her own cartoon, although the She-Ra: Princess of Power toys stayed around long after it went off the air. But while He-Man got his own live action movie and cartoon reboot, She-Ra has played second fiddle to her beefy bro for decades.
How we’d update it: She-Ra’s a great example of a female character who doesn’t really need to be updated for today’s audiences. She can hold her own among super-masculine heroes, and she has her own unique lineup of friends and foes. We could totally see She-Ra adapted as a Skylanders-esque video game where the action figures can actually enter the game where you’d directly control them.
