The Internet is filled with people telling you what they like: overflowing Pinterest pages, endless Yelp lists, Facebook profiles packed with “Likes.” Stamped is a little more discerning.
Users get a limited number of stamps, meaning they have to think before they give their seal of approval to things like movies, books, music and restaurants. Recently, the New York-based company released version 2.0 of its iPhone app, which adds a stronger social component.
Now you can easily browse through what your friends have recommended and rate things as you consume them through partners such as Netflix, Spotify and OpenTable.
Stamped, started by several former Google employees, even got itself some celebrity backers such as Ryan Seacrest, Ellen Degeneres and the Biebs, who, apparently, is a big fan of the 2008 Will Ferrell comedy Step Brothers.
