People who find themselves in the overlapping section of the Venn diagram comprised of an “Apple TV Owner” circle and a “Hulu Plus Subscriber” circle will be pleased to hear that Hulu Plus is now available via Apple TV.

According to Hulu’s blog post, you’ll find the Hulu Plus icon on the Apple TV home screen, at which point you can sign in with your existing account credentials or sign up for the $8-per-month service by using your iTunes account if you like. You can also sign up independent of iTunes by going directly through the Hulu Plus website instead. If you’re not a current subscriber, you’ll get a one-week free trial when you first sign up to see if you like the service.

With that, Hulu Plus joins Netflix as the second $8-per-month, all-you-can-stream option for movies and TV shows on Apple TV. Hulu Plus content includes “limited advertising” even if you’re a paid subscriber; Netflix content has no ads. You may prefer Hulu Plus’ relatively plentiful selection of TV-based content, though.

Hulu Plus boasts “hundreds of content partners, including top broadcast networks ABC, NBC, FOX, The CW and Univision,” including episodes from the current seasons of popular shows and “access to back seasons and full runs of some of TV’s greatest shows, including many that were not available online before, in HD whenever possible.”
