Keep it right here for live video of the Red Bull Stratos. Launching from Roswell, New Mexico, Felix Baumgartner will ascend to 120,000 feet in a stratospheric balloon then freefall back down to earth at top speeds estimated near 690 miles per hour. If successful, Baumgartner will “become the first man to break the speed of sound in freefall,” says Red Bull, “while delivering valuable data for medical and scientific advancement.”

Due to weather, the launch was initially delayed but the broadcast is now scheduled to start at 11:35am MT/1:35pm ET. This page will get updated should things get delayed further.

UPDATE (1:50pm ET): Today’s launch has been canceled due to wind. Winds had reached 17 miles per hour, according to the announcer in the above video. Tomorrow’s weather might be iffy as well, but the Stratos team will apparently be considering a Wednesday launch if the weather cooperates.
