It’s a double deal Monday, with Amazon lopping $50 off each of its large-format Kindle HD tablets and Best Buy trimming iPhone prices by $50 as well.
Starting with the 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD, you can get the Wi-Fi version starting at $249 for the 16GB model “with special offers,” which are basically ads that show on the tablet’s lock screen when it’s not being used. An extra $15 will get rid of those ads; the 32GB version with ads is going for $319, or $334 without ads.
The Kindle Fire HD with built-in 4G LTE wireless gets the same $50 off deal. Prices start at $449, and you can get 250 megabytes per month of AT&T 4G LTE wireless service for a once-a-year fee of $50.

Moving right along to Best Buy, you can get $50 off an iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S with a two-year contract. Prices start at $150 for the iPhone 5 (normally $200) and $50 for the iPhone 4S (normally $100). The phones are available through AT&T, Sprint or Verizon and, again, you’ll need to agree to a two-year contract for this deal. You have a little more time to cash in on this deal: It’s good until January 5.
