Bloomberg reports that several of the newfangled body scanners found in U.S. airports are to be removed. OSI, the company behind the “Rapiscan” machines has apparently been unable to “make passenger images less revealing,” says Bloomberg. As a result, OSI’s $5 million government contract will come to an end; 76 machines have already been removed, with another 174 to go. All machines are being removed at OSI’s expense.

This doesn’t mean the end of body scanning machines, though. “The TSA will instead use 60 machines manufactured by L-3 Communications Holdings Inc. (LLL), the agency’s other supplier of body scanners,” reports Bloomberg.
