The Asus FonePad might look a lot like the Nexus 7, but it’s got a couple interesting differences. First, it’s powered by an Intel Atom processor, rather than an Nvidia Tegra 3 chip. Second, and more importantly, it has full phone functionality, unlike so many other tablets that are data-only. Frankly, though, we’re just amused that Asus has produced a PadFone and a FonePad.
Other specs include 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB or 16 GB of storage, a 1.2-megapixel front camera, a 3-megapixel rear camera and a screen resolution of 1280-by-800. It’ll be out in Europe this April for €219 and up, but no word on a U.S. launch.
