This one’s for all you long-distance lovaaaahs out there.

Durex, purveyor of prophylactics, has rolled out Fundawear: The getup consists of his-and-hers unmentionables that connect to the Internet and are lined with sensors that deliver little touch-like zaps to various body parts.

Using the accompanying app, each user can touch a virtual representation of the other user’s undergarment, at which point the other user will feel the sensation of being touched from afar.

The slightly not-safe-for-work video below shows a little bit about how the system works, and includes a ringing endorsement from the female user.

She says, “It feels like you’re touching me!” to her love interest as the two remotely pet each other while conversing via Skype. That’s pretty much the point, so it looks like the system is working as planned.

No word on if or when something like this would be available for widespread purchase, but as Fast Company points out, “the company seems to be suggesting that the undies are available to those who enter a contest at Durex Australia’s Facebook page.”
