With The Last of Us, the design minds behind the Uncharted series try their hand at a survival-horror game that sounds a lot like an Uncharted game: third-person exploration, an A.I. companion, cover-based gunplay and melee combat. But Naughty Dog’s talking up the game’s stealth system (supposedly enhancing your palette of situational approaches), much-improved enemy A.I. and storytelling that they swear actually elevates the medium. That’s a ridiculously tall order, but fingers cautiously crossed.
