I find one thing annoying about this dazzling new Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag PlayStation 4 and Xbox One trailer: We could have done this years ago on PCs if development teams as talented as the ones at Ubisoft had thrown their energy into making the PC the lead platform instead of this lowest console denominator hangup (which, granted, is technically a who’s-going-to-buy-it hangup — I get it).
That’s it, my only gripe, and I’ll spare you the rant about console cycles dictating PC cycles and PCs these days feeling like hotrod motorcycles you’re forced to operate with bicycle pedals. Let’s talk about how incredible the game looks in this video, and why…oh just go watch the thing (crank it up to 1080p!), and pay particular attention to the sequences around 1:00, 1:31 and 2:24.
I don’t know about you, but with the PS4 version out (November 15) two weeks after the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions (October 29), and the Xbox One version following on November 22, I’d probably wait.
