Voice actress Jada Pinkett-Smith poses during a photocall for the animated film "Madagascar 3:Europe's most wanted" at the 65th Cannes Film Festival May 18, 2012.

Jada Pinkett-Smith has joined the ranks of celebrities investing in tech companies, by deciding to bankroll the Norwegian firm Bipper. The company produces the app bSafe, which provides parents with a GPS-tracking of their kids, and enables children to quickly notify parents and 911 in case of emergency.

“I chose [Bipper] because I saw the potential to solve real problems for kids, parents,” Pinkett-Smith, who has two children with fellow actor Will Smith, told Forbes.

Justin Timberlake, Ashton Kutcher and Dr. Dre are other celebrities who have ventured into the tech world. Over 200,000 women currently use bSafe in Norway.
