A Link to the Past’s wall-sliding protagonist isn’t the only one fiddling with time and space this fall: In Contrast, a noir-themed indie puzzle-platformer, you play as Dawn, a young detective working to re-conceptualize her troubled family history. She moves through a Paris-by-gaslight world in 3D, but can flatten her body against surfaces, silhouette-like, at which point the game becomes a 2D platformer as she leaps between shadowed surfaces. The twist: you have to fiddle with light sources while in 3D mode to create traversable shadow-paths in 2D mode.
