iRobotWhen the iRobot Braava was the Mint Robotic Cleaner, it cleaned circles around the better known floor sweeping brand. But iRobot bought out Mint’s owner, Evolution Robotics, a couple of years back, and the technology firms have since paired up to fight grime together. A whisper-quiet, floor-roaming push broom, Braava comes in two models ($199 or a $299 longer-lasting version) and uses either wet or dry Swiffers (or microfiber cloths) to sweep up dust and debris. It’s a much improved method over Roomba’s loud, dirty vacuum. And while Roomba runs around in a logic-defying pattern of trial-and-error, bumping-and-turning, Braava uses an external beacon to guide its path through the room — a much quieter and seemingly more advanced method of movement.
