The long wait is finally over. After about three years without a major overhaul, Apple’s latest Mac Pro desktop is about to go on sale.

Starting tomorrow, you’ll be able to order the 9.9-inch-tall cylindrical aluminum whatsit from Apple’s site and retail stores. Pricing starts at $3,000 for the quad-core version and $4,000 for the six-core version. Fun fact: My first car – a 1990 Mitsubishi Mirage – cost $4,000. I called it The Dart, but it wasn’t that fast. Had it been a computer, it would have had maybe one core.

You can see the available configurations here.

For all the pundits that said the desktop PC is dead, I can't wait for Apple to report their Q1 2014 sales. I've been waiting for a chance to do a major upgrade on my Mac hardware for a long LONG time.
