Insert an animated GIF of Michael Keaton swinging a cane at a vase here: Target just slashed the price of Nintendo’s 3DS XL by 25%, dropping it from its typical $200 perch to a crazyland $150.

Reasons to buy a 3DS? The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Pokemon X & YThe Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DFire Emblem: AwakeningAnimal Crossing: New LeafEtrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan and Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon.

Reasons to buy the upsized 3DS XL model specifically: Because the it’s all kinds of improved, and the extra nearly inch-and-a-half of diagonal upper screen real estate is priceless if you want to play long-form stuff (that would be most of the titles listed above). Also, the regular 3DS lists for $170, so you’re getting the much superior handheld for $20 less.

While you’ll have to visit a Target store in person to pick any of the standalone models up, it looks like Target’s selling the “3DS XL with Mario & Luigi: Dream Team – Silver – Limited Edition” online for $150, too (that’s right, a limited edition silver 3DS XL with a game for the same price as the discounted versions with no game, which is still $20 less than a non-XL 3DS).
