Online professional networking titan LinkedIn has launched a new Chinese-language version of its site.

According to Forbes, the company is hoping to wrangle up to 140 million members with its Chinese version. For the last decade, LinkedIn relied on an English language service in China, which currently boasts around 4 million users.

Domestic outlets Sina and Tencent have been incorporated into the new service, which should allow users to easily transfer their existing contacts into their new LinkedIn profile.

While CEO Jeff Weiner promised in a blog post earlier this week that the company remained committed to “freedom of expression and fundamentally disagrees with government censorship,” he conceded that the outift will comply with restrictions on content “to the extent required.”

LinkedIn currently has an estimated 277 million registered users in more than 200 countries.
