Rumor has it that Apple will launch a new iPad in April of next year, which happens to be roughly one year after the first one came out.
Well here’s a new one. Microsoft is apparently in negotiations “with TV networks to create a new subscription-based TV service on its Xbox gaming console,” according to Reuters. This information comes from sources who “asked not to be identified,” so take it all with a grain of salt.
News of Google’s browser-based Chrome operating system has been quiet lately. Perhaps a little too quiet. DigiTimes looks to shake things up with a rumor that Google may roll out its own smartbook running Chrome OS before the end of the year—maybe even sometime this month.
Engadget swears up and down that “the picture above is in fact the PlayStation Phone you’ve long been waiting for.”
Apple is holding its Back to the Mac media event today at 1:00 PM, Eastern. We could all wait patiently for the company to announce whatever it’s going to announce, or we could go the fun route and engage in wild speculation.

As part of the iPhone 4‘s design aesthetic, Apple decided to make the backside of the phone out of the same glass used on the front. Cool idea, right? You don’t see too many phones with the backside made of glass.
Samsung’s 7-inch Galaxy Tab Android tablet will cost $399 with a two-year data contract through Sprint, according to the Boy Genius Report. That’s according to one of BGR’s unnamed “Sprint sources,” so take the information with a grain of salt—the site’s nailed plenty of rumors in the past, though.
The next iteration of Sony’s handheld gaming platform could be a lot closer than we’ve been led to believe. Develop is reporting that the Playstation parent company’s seeding development hardware to gamemakers far and wide.
This information is all still in the early rumor phase, so take it with a grain of salt. There some loose talk that Amazon is working on its own version of an Android app store which has, in turn, led to speculation that Amazon may even be working its own Android tablet.
The Roku streaming media set-top box appears to be close to offering Hulu Plus support, which would mean unlimited streaming TV shows from ABC, NBC, and FOX for $10 per month.
