Skype Now Available for Android (With a Couple Asterisks)

Popular VoIP service, Skype, is now available for Android handsets. The app allows you to call and instant message other Skype users for free, and there are low-cost monthly plans for calling out to regular phone numbers and receiving calls to your own Skype-provided telephone number.

TaintDroid Tattles on Misbehaving Android Apps

Looks like TaintDroid just stole the Worst Recent Product Name award away from the Dell Streak. Once you get past the name, though, TaintDroid (that’s hard to type, even) may turn out to be a valuable app for Android owners.

Amazon App Store and Android Tablet in the Works?

This information is all still in the early rumor phase, so take it with a grain of salt. There some loose talk that Amazon is working on its own version of an Android app store which has, in turn, led to speculation that Amazon may even be working its own Android tablet.
