Doctor Who 5.13: All This, And The Big Bang 2

It's a testament to just how good Steven Moffat is that a season finale that actually didn't answer the big questions about what actually happened, who was behind the destruction of the TARDIS and whose voice that was at the end of last week's episode, was nonetheless completely satisfying.

Doctor Who 5.12: Welcome To The Plastic Beachhead

There was a lot to love about “The Pandorica Opens,” even if it was mostly set-up for next week’s grand season finale. If nothing else, what a set-up: Bringing back all manner of characters from this season to try and send the Doctor a message about something that he already kind of knew (The destruction of the TARDIS), bringing back even more villains who – gasp! – may be the good guys this time around, and the tease of an explanation about what, exactly, is going on with that whole crack-in-time thing. Oh, and the return of someone who really shouldn’t exist, and a grand historical joke or two. What more could you want?

Doctor Who DVD To Feature All-New Episodes – Kind Of

Not on board the Doctor Who lovefest yet (And after this weekend’s episode – which I’ll write about shortly – you really have no excuse)? Well, the BBC are making it very easy for you to join in: The DVD/BluRay release of the show’s fifth season won’t just feature all thirteen episodes of Matt Smith’s first year as the Doctor, it’ll also feature two brand-new mini-episodes written by showrunner Steven Moffat himself, called “Meanwhile, in the TARDIS.”

Doctor Who 5.9: Don’t Stick Your Hand In There, Doctor!

For the first time since the start of this season, I’m beginning to think that Doctor Who isn’t playing fair. Sure, “Cold Blood” may have been, on one hand, a fairly dull by-the-numbers conclusion of the Silurians two-parter (Humanity’s basest natures, driven by love, prevent a new golden age of man and lizard living in perfect harmony! What a surprise!), but the final few moments of the episode…? Yeah, something was definitely going on there.

Doctor Who 5.8: The Doctor And The Children

For some reason, it seems unfair to recap the first half of an unfinished story like this weekend’s Doctor Who, “The Hungry Earth,” and not just because there wasn’t much more than set-up to talk about (That said, the concept of Amy dying and leaving the Doctor and Rory traveling together? I would’ve loved to [...]

Torchwood Returns, More Worldly Than Before

Ending almost a year of speculation, the BBC has announced that Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood will return for a new ten-episode season with both John Barrowman and Eve Myles reprising their roles as Captain Jack and Gwen… but, in a surprise move, it’ll take place outside the UK.

Doctor Who Weekend in America: Mars Edition

It’s Doctor Who weekend in the United States – when us lowly BBC America chaps get to finally catch up with our brethren across the pond.
