Dell’s 7-inch “Streak 7″ Android tablet is due this week from T-Mobile at $200 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a two-year contract starting at $25 per month. That’s $50 cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Tab offered through T-Mobile, which is now priced at $250 after being discounted from $400.
The Dell Streak, you’ll recall, is a 5-inch Android tablet with phone-like abilities, a previously-reported launch date of “late July” and an initially-reported unlocked price of $500.
The 5-inch Dell Streak—a large phone or a small tablet, depending how you see the world—goes on sale tomorrow in Europe and has gotten a more firm release date here in the US. What was once “summer” is now “July” and the device will sell directly from Dell for $500.
The unfortunately-named Dell “Streak” will go on sale in the UK next week, with a US release to follow later this summer. The 5-inch Android tablet hovers in a netherworld between larger-screen smartphones and high-resolution tablets. It’s capable of conventional phone calls and 3G data access via O2’s network.
