The comics and animation worlds are in shock today with the news that writer and producer Dwayne McDuffie has died from complications following a surgical procedure on Monday evening.

Warner Bros. has announced that next Spring will see the release of an animated movie based on Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely’s All Star Superman, with Desperate Housewives’ James Denton in the title role, Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks as Lois Lane and, almost as excitingly, Ed Asner as Perry White.
The direct-to-DVD animated feature Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths comes out today. It’s written by former Justice League of America writer Dwayne McDuffie, and features a bunch of plot points–and Easter eggs–that allude to comics of the past.
