Hobbit Movie To Feature Lord Of The Rings Characters?

Despite rumors to the contrary, former Doctor Who Sylvester McCoy will not be starring in the title role of Peter Jackson’s upcoming The Hobbit… because he’s apparently in the running for another, less short, more powerful role in the movie instead.

Comic-Con: Why There Better Be A Hobbit Announcement This Year (Today)

Expect plenty of announcements to roll out during Comic-Con over the next four days, at least surrounding the biggest and most popular franchises. I, for one, am planning on hearing a whole lot more about TRON: Legacy, Harry Potter, Battlestar Galactica and The Walking Dead. Maybe The Green Lantern and Green Hornet to boot.

This is certainly a heavy blow to Middle Earth dwellers. Guillermo del Toro has officially quit as director of the two-part The Hobbit movie due to production delays and MGM’s ongoing financial woes.
