What a wonderful pile of crap this $20 Retro USB Mouse looks like. Wonderful in the sense that it conjures up memories of a simpler time in the history of computing – pile of crap in the sense that the median nerve in my mousing wrist feels all carpally-tunnely just looking at it.
The days of typing “Facebook.com” into your browser’s address bar? Gone! Bookmarks? Pah! Shortcuts? Those require double clicks. Two clicks? Did we lose a war?! There’s got to be a better way! HP might have the answer with its new X7000 Wi-Fi Touch Mouse.
So there I was on the train from Boston to New York. I like the Quiet Car. It’s capitalized because it’s important that people in the Quiet Car REMAIN QUIET FOR THE ENTIRE TRIP. And still waters run deep if you’re like me.
Microsoft has officially unveiled its new Arc Touch Mouse today, with a suggested retail price of $69.95 and an availability timeframe of “early December in time for the U.S. holiday season.”
That mysterious peripheral that the Microsoft Hardware team was teasing via Twitter a couple weeks back is indeed the Arc Touch Mouse, as proposed by documents unearthed shortly after the guessing game started.
Logitech is hoping to woo the gaming community with its new G-series line of high-end peripherals. The company’s press release says that the products are available now through Logitech’s site (some are backordered already) “and will be rolling out soon with major retailers.”
Mouseless is a self-described “invisible computer mouse that provides the familiarity of interaction of a physical mouse without actually needing a real hardware mouse.”
I hate to spoil all the fun before the big event later today but there’s a rumor floating around that seems to indicate Apple may be introducing something called the “Magic Trackpad” peripheral. The above photo shows the side view of the alleged device.
