Jamie Hyneman — the thickly facial-haired, beret-adorned half of the hit TV show MythBusters — has landed himself a new side gig working on a special project for the US Military.

This weekend the Harvard Secular Society dealt lifetime achievement awards to MythBusters‘ Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman. In acceptance, Adam delivered a speech that’s as moving as it is thought provoking. Your thoughts on deities aside, you should take the time to read his argument for empathy, with God or without.
