Syfy Partners With Shazam on New TV/App Hybrid

Syfy’s Being Human may not be breaking new ground in terms of content – It’s a remake of a popular British series, already seen in the US on BBC America – but it is making technological moves no-one has seen before by becoming the first season-long “TV Tagging” series on the air.

Syfy Cancels Caprica, Pulls Show Entirely From Schedule

Syfy has announced that they are not only not renewing Caprica, but they will be removing the remaining episodes from their schedule starting next Tuesday, with the intent to air them at some point in the first part of 2011. While the cancellation of the show isn’t unexpected considering continually falling ratings, pulling the remaining [...]

Being Human Releases First Pictures of US Version

The other highly anticipated supernatural themed show starting up (besides The Walking Dead, of course) is the American remake of BBC’s Being Human. Other shows from across the pond like The Office or Extras have translated well to American audiences. Some even say the American version of The Office is better than the original – okay, [...]

The Best Thing About Caprica? Their Technology – No, Not Cylons

When Caprica returns to Syfy tonight, it’ll bring with it a return of all the gadgets and almost-but-not-quite technology that’ve quietly become one of the highpoints of the series’ worldbuilding – The holobands, the e-paper and the one-step-beyond-steampunk broken down “old” technology that mixes and matches technology we’ve already got. Exclusive: Ultimate Gamer 2′s Caesar On Betrayal and the Alliance

On last night’s episode of WCG Ultimate Gamer 2, the Alliance/Pentagon – the partnership of the top five male players in the house – broke. Yaz Ammari shocked all the players by putting Ryan Burnett against Caesar Noriega. While the two are top Xbox gamers (Noriega was a top 8 finalist in Gears of War), [...]

New Trailer for Being Human Reveals Nothing

It’s Syfy’s turn to take on the Brits. Just like so many BBC shows before it, Being Human is getting Americanized. The show revolves around three roommates - a vampire, werewolf and a ghost – who deal with the trials and tribulations of living the supernatural life in Detroit.

Caprica Returns Three Months Early

Fans waiting for the return of Battlestar Galactica prequel Caprica will have a much shorter wait than expected; Syfy announced today that the second half of the show’s first season will begin on October 5th at 10pm, instead of the previously announced January 2011.

13 Thoughts On The Warehouse 13/Eureka Crossover

So, now we’ve seen what the first crossover between Syfy shows that aren’t called Stargate looks like, and it has to be said, I kind of liked it. Maybe it’s because I’m a comic fan and therefore shared universes and crossovers and cameos and everything like that is like catnip to me, but watching characters from Eureka and Warehouse 13 wander into each other’s worlds with last week’s episodes of their respective series made me want to see more of this Syfy-verse, and sooner rather than later, if possible.

13 Thoughts On Warehouse 13 2.4: Age Before Beauty

Lessons I learned from last night’s episode of Warehouse 13: My TiVo hates me. No, wait, I mean “Myka isn’t supremely confident, Claudia is socially awkward, and both need emotional support from their male counterparts.” No, that’s not right either. Oh, well: Here’re thirteen thoughts about “Age Before Beauty.”

Tiffany vs. Debbie Gibson: Syfy’s “Grade D” Cat Fight (Now With Pie!)

This week, Syfy delivered our first peep at its upcoming Mega-Python vs. Gatoroid, starring ex-pop stars Tiffany and Debbie Gibson. In this new clip, the movie seems more all out girl fight than creature feature. See for yourself.
