I'm not sure I'd call it the killer app the PS Vita's looking for, but if you've been waiting for a video chat option that lets you avail yourself of the Vita's dual cameras, it's finally here, as in right now, courtesy Skype.

The entertainment industry’s been pretty lethargic about bringing big-screen, high-definition video calling to living rooms en masse. It’s been left to video game hardware manufacturers via set-top boxes to do the job, be they video chats with up to six people using Sony’s PlayStation 3, or Video Kinect using Microsoft’s motion-sensing Xbox 360 camera.
Huzzah! Google’s spiffing up their Android phones by adding Google Talk video and voice chat capabilities. It also might be time for me cheat on my iPhone, with a hot, newer number.
Coexistence is possible. The newest version of Qik lets Android video call iPhone users – and vice versa. Now let’s all hold hands and sing around the campfire.
