ViewSonic Tablet Runs Windows and Android: Good Idea, Poor Execution

As a holdover until Microsoft ships the tablet-friendly Windows 8, I like the idea of a Windows 7 tablet that also runs Android. Sure, Windows 7 doesn’t play nicely with touch screens, but it’s a great operating system for getting work done, and when you’re finished, you can switch to Android for leisure.

HP’s Slate 2: A Windows 7 Tablet for $700

HP’s Slate 2 is a rare product from an unlikely company. You don’t see many Windows 7 tablets these days, because most hardware makers are presumably waiting for Microsoft’s touch-optimized Windows 8 to launch next year. HP, meanwhile, is still licking its wounds over the failure of its TouchPad tablet, and only recently decided it [...]

A New Record? Microsoft Claims 350 Million Windows 7 Licenses Sold

Call it a record, or just a whole lot better than Windows “rhymes-with missed-ya,” Microsoft says Windows 7 can lay claim to 350 million licenses sold since it launched on October 22, 2009.

ViewPad 100: ViewSonic’s 10-inch Android/Windows Tablet

Seesmic Look: Twitter Made Easy

Love it or hate it – Twitter is here to stay. It’s managed to become invaluable for a number of reasons and if you haven’t already jumped on board, well, you’re actually missing out. The speed with which news can be delivered and shared via the social networking site is astounding. Businesses like Dell and [...]

Windows 7? I’m Not Through Hating Vista Yet!

There appears to be some kind of pan-industry collusion going on in the tech world, whereby nothing interesting can happen, ever. MacWorld was pretty ho-hum, and Ballmer’s keynote at CES last night was mighty drab as well. (A true technology journalist would have written that it “failed to excite.”) The only thing that stuck with [...]
