Microsoft’s taking its annual video game victory lap, this time celebrating Xbox 360 sales for 2011, during which the 360 outsold both the PlayStation 3 and Wii (tied for second place) by over 2.7 million units.

Microsoft’s Larry Hryb, also known as Major Nelson, in a tweet this morning. Hryb’s latest tweet mentions that Microsoft will “have an update this afternoon” about when Xbox 360 owners will begin to see the changes. The update brings new entertainment features to the popular gaming console.
