Assassin’s Creed 2 Review: “It’s-A-Me, Mario!”

Every year a handful of titles end up being in the “must-have” or “highly anticipated” category. Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed 2 happens to fall under the latter umbrella for 2009. Is it a “must-have” for this year? It depends on who you ask to be quite honest. What Ubisoft did with the original Assassin’s Creed was [...]

BioShock 2 Special Edition: I Need That

2K released the box art for BioShock 2 yesterday and today, they’ve released details and images of the Special Edition bundle, which will be available on February 9th, 2010. Xbox 360 and PS3 owners will have to shell out $100 while PC gamers need only fork over $90. Is it really worth the extra dough?

Bask In The Glory of BioShock 2′s Box Art

Titillating, isn’t it? What more could you ask for? Lev would have wanted to see some Big Sister on Big Sister action, which I would have loved too but a Big Daddy and Little Sister are neat-o enough for me. What do you folks think?

Left 4 Dead 2 Review

When Left 4 Dead 2 was announced earlier this year, I didn’t want to like it. Why? Because I loved the first game so much.

Get Your Sgt. Pepper’s On In New Beatles: Rock Band DLC

When The Beatles: Rock Band came out in September, our dream of playing through the legendary rock group’s career with plastic instruments was fulfilled. And MTV Games, Harmonix and Apple Corps. are continuing to make sure that we’ll get to play through their career… and the entire Beatles catalog.

Q&A with Xbox LIVE’s Marc Whitten

Microsoft will be pushing out the second half of the Xbox LIVE update that was previewed at E3 some time tonight. Another component of the update includes instant on 1080p videos with full 5.1 surround sound via the Zune Marketplace. Most [...]

Assassin’s Creed 2: Inspired Design Trailer

The second coming of Ubisoft’s monster hit Assassin’s Creed is almost upon us. It hits stores tomorrow and while I’m writing this I’m also busy getting through our review build. It’s pretty epic and I’ll probably end up playing through the night. Rough life, right?

In Which I Become a Game Slut, and Then Borderlands Makes an Honest Man of Me

I’ve been a flighty gamer this fall. Like a wee little faun hopping from glen to glen. After my passionate — and I’m talkin’ Twilight passionate — obsession with Halo: ODST, I briefly, sluttily hooked up with a whole series of games. Like:

The Top 10 Games of 2009

The other day Peter and I were floating around on our hoversofas being fed grapes by our sexy robot servants when the question of the year’s top 10 games came up. It seems ridiculously early in the year, but for various reasons having to do with the exciting field of magazine production, we have to [...]

Thoughts About Microsoft’s Project Natal, E3, Halo, etc.

How ’bout that Microsoft keynote yesterday? That stuff was old-school console-wars stuff. Like, my stuff is better than your stuff, I’m gonna win the show, etc. I felt a rush of nostalgia at their naked aggression. Seriously I wrote a thing about Project Natal, Microsoft’s freaky motion-sensing peripheral, which I went to Seattle last week [...]

True Tales of Gaming Obsession

I was skimming through this article on Eurogamer about the best Xbox Live achievements — because, you know, other people are going to come up with a cure for malaria — and I couldn’t help but be struck by the plangent awesomeness of people’s accounts of how they beat the really serious ones.
