1. Post About How Much You Hate Your Job

It’s tempting to air out your grievances on Facebook, but remember your employer could be watching.

Dr. June Talvitie-Siple formerly of Cohasset High School was asked to resign after she updated her Facebook status to call local area parents “arrogant and snobby” and to refer to some her her students as “germ bags.” The statements may or may not have been true, but she should have kept her opinions to herself if she wanted to keep her almost $100,000 a year job.

This isn’t true. Comments on blogs, twitter, facebook are just as protected as any other speech. Supreme Court ruled on this exact topic within the past few months. You cannot fire someone just because they are blowing off steam online. However, it’s still not a good idea.

Dr. June actually commented on my blog after I re-posted this article. She denies these claims, quite rudely I should add.
She found my blog by googling her own name (I can see it in the Site Stats on wordpress).

I post everything I want on FB ..but I have the common sense not to send a friend request to my employer. I’m quite a straight forward guy…quite outspoken actually.
