Handed a nearly impossible assignment–writing the flagship Superman title without using Superman himself, and taking over at the last minute after an already solicited writer bailed–Paul Cornell pulled off a coup: his crisp, witty version of Action, drawn by Pete Woods, stars Lex Luthor, a great hero in his own mind. The soon-to-end Jimmy Olsen backup feature by Nick Spencer and R.B. Silva is a lot of fun, too.
