The concept was pure genius, but it was the execution that floundered a little bit. About the blue-collar monsters who spend their days visiting closets, scaring kids, “Monsters” created an intricate and elaborate world unto itself. But then spent a little too much time on surfice office bantering. It’s an A-minus in an A-plus pile – a movie that simply lacked a little of the depth to follow.
