When Invincible quietly launched for Image comics it went relatively unnoticed for a while.  But writer Robert Kirkman did nothing less then craft his own comic book universe with Invincible and his supporting cast.  The title takes a teen aged super hero and tackles issues like pregnancy, single moms, and a hero’s duty to kill or not to kill.  This is the first of two books written by superstar Kirkman on this list and while I feel a bit guilty about that I simply couldn’t ignore Invincible.
