The New Warriors by themselves were nothing special. And in normal circumstances wiping out a team like this wouldn’t really be that interesting. However when Speedball, Namorita, Night Thrasher, and Microbe take on Nitro and his cronies for a reality TV show things go very very wrong. Nitro explodes near an elementary school killing most of the New Warriors and hundreds of children. A tragedy that ended up sparking Marvel’s Civil War story line.
