Phantom Zone Match #1: Khan vs. Two Jokers

Real Name: Khan Noonien Singh

Why They’re So, So Bad (origin): In Star Trek II, he torments Kirk and his crew. Slipping nasty little bugs into people’s brains, setting off Genesis, he’s a man who likes his revenge served up cold.

Most Impressive Power: He survives a 15-year exile on a barron world. The dude has persistence.

Who He/She/It Makes Life Hell For: His only objective seems to be inflicting pain on Kirk, whatever the form it takes.

Most Dastardly Act: He takes Spock from us!

How Close He/She/It Came to Ruling/Destroying the Universe: Not too close; it’s his obsession with revenge that ultimately does him in.

Real Name: Joker tag-team (Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger)

Why They’re So, So Bad (origin): Mater criminals, a little bit mischief (Nicholson), a little bit diabolical (Ledger), always ruthless

Most Impressive Power: His ability to turn good people on one another

Who He/She/It Makes Life Hell For: Batman, Gothamites of all ages

Most Dastardly Act: Acid-squirting flower, pencil through the head

How Close He/She/It Came to Ruling/Destroying the Universe: In “The Dark Knight,” Heath Ledger almost managed to turn the whole city on one another, bringing out the worst of people under pressure.

WINNER: KHAN. It’s a close one to be sure; we envision some glorious crazy on crazy action, but at the end of the day, when you know how to work a spaceship and have some sinister alien brain-eaint bugs on your side, you are probably going to emerge victorious. Sure, Joker would round up the gangs and squirt some acid, and then Khan would just wait him out, before turning the Joker into his slug zombie.
