Today in Techland: We watched Snoop Dog and Darth Vader invade Times Square on behalf of Adidas, Steve talked with Shawn Ashmore (Iceman from X-Men!) about his role in upcoming film Frozen, and Peter sat down with Marvel Comic scribe Matt Fraction, the man behind Iron Man. Peter’s also entering Wired‘s challenge to disappear for an entire month. Really.

Here’s what else going on in nerd news around the Web:

Happy Birthday, Facebook. That’s right, the mega force of social networking was founded six years on Feb. 4, 2006. I can’t believe that poke war has lasted this long.

The return of Sling. AT&T announced that it has finally given the green light for the SlingPlayer iPhone app to stream live over its 3G network. This means techies can now watch and control their home TVs. Rejoice.

Slackers on smartphones. Today, Slacker Radio announced the release of an app for Palm webOS smartphones including the Palm Pre, Palm Pre Plus, Palm Pixi and Palm Pixi Plus. The app is available in the U.S. and Canada.

“Today’s my last day at Sun. I’ll miss it. Seems only fitting to end on a #haiku Financial crisis/Stalled too many customers/CEO no more”

A Kick-Ass opening. SXSW Film Festival lineup is announced and leading the pack is Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass, which will open the festival in Austin, Texas on March 12. Check out the rest of the lineup here.
