Zombie of the Week: “Plants vs. Zombies”

Welcome to ‘Zombie of the Week,’ folks, where each week we’ll present you with a different brain-eating member of the undead that has captured our fancy. There is no methodology to our Zombie Awesomeness meter, just our own piqued interests. Got a zombie we should see? Comment below. No zombie is too small, too short-lived, or too gross.

This is the greatest game ever.

Imagine you had the power to ward off a zombie invasion with plants. Grow them in your yard and the zombies can’t get to your house. Don’t grow them quickly enough, and the zombies will chop them down and come after you.

This week’s Zombie of the Week will come after your plants, furiously driving his lawn tractor, thirsty for your brains. He will stop at nothing. You must use your green thumb to stop him first.

The tower defense-style Plants vs. Zombies (released last May) has finally been ported to the iPhone and iPod Touch, and as of this week, is available via Apple’s App Store for $2.99. The app version includes all 50 levels of pitting greenery against the zombie apocalypse, where if you’re successful, zombies will be thwarted with fireballs, Venus fly traps and exploding red hot peppers.

Play well and you’ll survive – and be entertained for hours.
