When it comes to Think Geek and April Fool’s Day, the National Pork Board still isn’t laughing.

Today, the product makers of all things nerd posted of a recent cease and desist letter they received from the NPB for its canned unicorn meat – an April Fool’s Day parody product. (Think: Spam, with glitter.) The board, who owns rights to its “The Other White Meat” slogan, didn’t take kindly to Think Geek’s description of its new canned unicorn, dubbed “The New White Meat,” and threatened legal action in a 12-page cease and desist letter. (See the first page below.)

According to a blog post, Think Geek isn’t aiming to take away its fake Unicorn Spam anytime soon, claiming that their use of the porky slogan is legal because of parody. (It’s still available for $10.)  “We’d like to publicly apologize to the NPB for the confusion over unicorn and pork–and for their awkward extended pause on the phone after we had explained our unicorn meat doesn’t actually exist,” they wrote in the post.

In fact, it seems like the company couldn’t be happier with the NPB’s comical confusion, and have offered customers $10 off any Think Geek order of $40 or more by entering PORKBOARD at checkout until June, 30.
