The First Trailer: The Walking Dead [Updated: New Bootleg]

During today’s The Walking Dead panel, AMC gave fans their first peek at the new series, scheduled to debut in October. They also announced that actors Michael Rooker (Jumper) and Norman Reedus (The Boondock Saints) will join the cast as Merle and Daryl Dixon, respectively. Also, composer Bear McCreary will write the series’ score. (He’s worked extensively on scores for Battlestar Galactica and Caprica.)

The footage looks amazing, proving that director Frank Darabont and Walking Dead author Robert Kirkman are an amazing team. (I’m sorry for the bootleg footage, but we wanted to get it up asap, and AMC hasn’t posted the trailer yet. We’ll swap once it’s up.) We’re not sure that we could be more excited for this show to air. It’s a good day to be a zombie fan.
