Barnes & Noble has announced that its Nook e-reader software is now available as a free iPhone app. The company has also updated its iPad app to include “in-app content rating and other improvements,” as well as rebranding its PC desktop software as “Nook for PC.”
The iPhone app features Barnes & Noble’s exclusive LendMe feature, allowing Nook owners to share books back and forth for 14 days at a time, along with last-page synching between Nook-compatible devices, access to previously purchased books, and note-taking, bookmarking, and highlighting features.
Nook for iPhone is available today as a free download from iTunes.
