Marvel has released preview images from Tron: Betrayal, their prologue to this winter’s upcoming Tron Legacy, and… is it just me, or is the mention of “the West Coast” seem kind of weird?
Tron: Betrayal is a two-issue series that spans the period between the first and second movie, filling in backstory for Legacy and introducing some of the movie’s key players. Interestingly enough, the plot for the series is specifically credited to Starlight Runner Entertainment, a company outside of both Marvel and Disney, that – in the words of their website, “[offers] guidance on how to expand and broaden storyline universes of intellectual properties that can then be marketed in concert across a variety of platforms simultaneously or gradually.”
The first issue of Tron: Betrayal is released next month.
