The Doctor Makes A House Call in Bristol

Bleeding Cool got a hold of pictures from the Doctor Who set in Bristol. The show is currently filming their sixth season right now. The pictures don’t say much about what’s going on right now, but if the future is in a council estate in central Bristol.. well…

College Journalists Should Keep Steve Jobs Alone

Now, I have a big space in my heart for college journalists, having been one myself a few years ago so this story struck a chord with me.

Chelsea Kate Issacs was a girl on a deadline. She needed to get comment from Apple, and she needed it right now. And, like any industrious college journalist, she joined the scores of other desperate writers and emailed Apple’s media account to get an answer. When she didn’t get a response, she went for Jobs himself. (Good job, Chelsea!) His email is not that hard to figure out: sjobs@apple.com.

After a brief back and forth in which Jobs basically said that college journalists are worthless, he finally replied, “Please leave us alone.” Seriously, yelling at a girl for doing her job? This was in response to her writing:

“The completion of this article is crucial to my grade in the class, and it may potentially get published in our university’s newspaper … I have called countless times throughout the week, leaving short, but detailed, messages which included my contact information and the date of my deadline. Today, I left my 6th message, which stressed the increasingly more urgent nature of the situation. It is now the end of the business day, and I have not received a call back. My deadline is tomorrow.”

So she did what she knew best: She gave her story to the media.

Doesn’t Jobs know that some of his biggest college-aged journalists? You’ll never get them to turn in their iPhones and iPads, but  college-aged kids can be a group to be reckoned with.
