Ruffalo: I Am The Hulk

If your problem with previous cinematic versions of Marvel’s incredible Hulk has been that he just didn’t seem like the same guy as that puny Banner, then maybe you’ll dig the Hulk you’ll get to meet in Joss Whedon’s The Avengers… because it’ll be Mark Ruffalo himself.

Well, okay, not exactly. Despite Ruffalo’s claims that he’ll be playing the Hulk “exactly” in 2012’s Mighty Marvel Team-Up, it’s really just more motion-capture technology at play:

I’m really excited. No one’s ever played the Hulk exactly, they’ve always done CGI… They’re going to do the Avatar stop-action, stop-motion capture. So I’ll actually play the Hulk. That’ll be fun.

Two things: Firstly, wasn’t the Hulk from the 2008 Louis Letterier movie motion captured (although, admittedly, not from Ed Norton’s performance)? Secondly, I already want the DVD extra footage of Ruffalo dressed in a mo-cap body sock rampaging around against a green screen. That will be awesome.
