Sprint has announced that it’ll be selling the BlackBerry Style starting October 31st. The phone will cost $99 with a two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate.
The handset combines a flip phone form factor with a full QWERTY keyboard and will run Research in Motion’s new BlackBerry 6 operating system.
The form factor and pricing ought to appeal to flip phone users looking to get into something with more powerful features and a full keyboard, but who like the protection against accidental dialing and the ability to flip the phone open and closed to answer and end calls.
The Style features a 5-megapixel camera, visual voicemail, upgradeable 8GB microSD memory card, and an external screen for quickly viewing new messages, battery life, a clock, and other information.
The phone comes in gray or purple, with pre-sales of the gray handset beginning tomorrow for shipment on the 31st. The purple version will be available in November.
